🩺 Specialist Consultation at EuroMedClinic

Learn when to choose a specialist consultation, how to book it, what to expect, and how to receive documents after the appointment.

🔹 What is a Specialist Consultation

A specialist consultation is a full video appointment with a certified doctor in a specific medical field.
This format is suitable for in-depth discussion of symptoms, treatment planning, or obtaining a second medical opinion.

Examples of specialties: psychiatry, dermatology, neurology, pediatrics, dentistry, rheumatology, ENT, oncology, surgery, and more.

🔹 When to Choose a Specialist Consultation

You should choose a specialist consultation if you:

  • Are looking for a doctor in a specific field;
  • Have a complex issue requiring detailed assessment;
  • Want to receive a second opinion;
  • Have a referral from a general practitioner;
  • Need to discuss a diagnosis or condition requiring monitoring.

💡 For simple issues (cold, headache, cystitis, mild allergy), an express consultation with a general practitioner is recommended.

🔹 Consultation Cost

The cost is set individually by each doctor.
The exact price is displayed in the doctor’s profile before booking.
The price includes the full online appointment fee — no hidden or additional charges.

🔹 Appointment Duration

Appointment length depends on the doctor, usually 15 to 60 minutes:

  • Short sessions: 15–30 minutes
  • Longer sessions: 45–60 minutes

Duration is always indicated in the doctor’s profile.

🔹 Who Conducts the Consultations

All consultations are conducted by certified doctors registered in the EuroMedClinic marketplace.

You can filter doctors by:

  • Specialty
  • Language
  • Cost

Doctor profiles include:

  • Education and professional experience
  • Languages spoken
  • Cost and duration
  • Available slots
  • Patient reviews

🔹 Can I Book a Consultation for a Child or Another Person

Yes, you can book a consultation for a child or a family member if you are their legal representative.
Specify this in the booking comments and provide the relevant identification document.
This is important if the doctor may issue a prescription, referral, or medical certificate.

🔹 How to Book a Consultation

Step 1: Find a Doctor

  • If you are not logged in:
Go to the Doctors page, use filters, select a doctor, pick a convenient time, and proceed to payment.
  • If you are logged in (patient account):
Go to “My Account → Book a Doctor”, select the specialty, language, and suitable doctor.

Doctor profiles show:

  • Name, specialty, language
  • Cost and nearest available time
  • Detailed information and reviews

Step 2: Provide Your Information

During the first booking, enter:

  • First and last name (Latin letters)
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Country of residence
  • Document number (required if the doctor may issue medical documents)

This information is saved in your profile and only needs to be entered once.
You can also attach test results, previous medical records, or photos (e.g., skin rash, throat, eyes) to help the doctor prepare.

🔹 Payment

Payment is made online via a secure system (Stripe) and is charged at the time of booking.

After payment, you will receive:

  • Confirmation email
  • Appointment details in your EuroMedClinic patient account

🔹 How the Online Consultation Works

Video appointments are conducted directly in the browser, no apps required.
The connection link will be available:

  • In an email 15 minutes before the appointment
  • In your account → My Account → My Orders → Join Consultation

Check your Spam or Promotions folders if the email does not arrive.

🔹 During the Consultation

The doctor will:

  • Review your reason for visit
  • Clarify symptoms and medical history
  • Review tests and previous diagnoses
  • Provide recommendations and a plan of action
  • Issue documents if necessary (prescription, referral, certificate)

You can ask questions and discuss the recommendations.

🔹 After the Consultation

Documents (if issued) are available:

  • By email
  • In your account → My Account → My Orders → Download Documents

Documents may include:

  • Medical recommendations
  • Prescription (if allowed by law in your country)
  • Referrals for tests or to other specialists
  • Medical certificates

🔹 If the Doctor Does Not Join

  1. Check the time zone in your account.
  2. Verify the scheduled appointment time.
  3. Wait 5–10 minutes — doctors may join slightly late.
  4. Contact support for rescheduling, rejoining, or refund.

🔹 When You Will Receive a Prescription

If a prescription is required, it is usually available within 24 hours after the consultation.
The decision to issue a prescription is made solely by the doctor based on medical indications.

🏥 Offline Consultation

An offline consultation is a face-to-face appointment with a doctor registered in the EuroMedClinic marketplace.
You can choose a doctor, book a convenient time, and receive professional medical care directly in the clinic.

This format is ideal for physical examination, diagnostics, and treatment planning.
If needed, you can continue follow-up consultations online with the same doctor via EuroMedClinic.
