🆔 Identification Document: why is it needed and how to add it

Learn why an identity document is needed to access services, which types are accepted, and where to provide them in your EuroMedClinic account.

❌ Can You Book a Consultation Without an Identity Document?

No. To book a consultation on EuroMedClinic, you must provide a valid identity document. This ensures that the doctor can issue prescriptions, referrals, or medical certificates in accordance with the laws of the country where the doctor is located.

✅ Which Documents Are Accepted?

You can use one of the following documents:

  • Passport
  • National ID card of an EU citizen
  • Residence permit (including NIE with residence rights in Spain)

🖊 Where to Provide or Update Your Document

Identity document details are entered once, either at your first login to the account or during your first consultation booking.

The system will automatically prompt you to fill in the information via a notification linking to your Profile.

You will need to provide:

  • Full name (as shown on the document)
  • Document type
  • Document number
  • Country of issue

This information is stored under:
My Account → Profile → Additional Information → Document Type & Document Number

You can update or change these details at any time.

⚠ Why It’s Important

Without a valid identity document, the doctor cannot issue prescriptions, referrals, or medical certificates after the consultation — even if clinically justified.

To avoid delays or errors, ensure your document information is correct and up to date at the time of booking.
